We’re Ready For Normal!
Two years into the Covid-19 pandemic,
everyone is ready for ‘normal’. We’re not
sure what that is any longer, but we’re ready
for something better than pandemic life. To
that end, the Rodenberg Church of Christ
has made the decision to move toward a
more normal schedule of activities.
On March 6, 2022, we began a second
meeting on Sundays. We kept our morning
assembly at 10:00am, and began meeting at
4:00pm on Sunday afternoons. This will be
our “evening” assembly from now on. We
decided on the time change as a way to
help our older members who are not able
to get out after dark. This will be a much
bigger help to them during the winter
months.
The 4:00pm meeting is more like a small
group. Currently, we use the Sunday
morning sermon as the focus of our
discussion, but we make time for fellowship,
snacks, etc. If you’re looking for a relaxed,
friendly, encouraging activity, this just might
be for you.
GriefShare Ministers To
The Hurting
Death of a loved one is never easy. Grief can
make life seem unbearable. One never “gets
over” the fact that a person close to them
has died. There is help, however, and that’s
where our GriefShare ministry can shine.
The thirteen-week series of videos,
discussions, outside reading, and sharing
together can assist people to find life in the
face of sorrow. Ask Linda Woods, our
ministry leader for GriefShare. We started
this program when Linda’s daughter, Jenny,
passed away. After a couple or three cycles,
Linda became a group moderator, and
eventually took on the role of leading the
ministry. If you, or someone you know, has
experienced the death of a loved one, talk
to Linda and find out more about how this
ministry can help.
New Video Series On The
Gospel Of Mark
Bill Denton and Phillip Burgess have
teamed up to produce a video series on the
Gospel of Mark. The videos will be available
free on the CrossTies Ministry YouTube
Channel.
The study takes a unique approach, looking
at the Gospel of Mark as a story. The idea is
that when originally written, this small book
was intended to be read, or even recited, to
groups of listeners. Most likely, they would
have heard the entire book in a single
performance. It would have been heard as a
story, relating important information about
Jesus and God’s kingdom in the world.
Bill And Phillip will examine sections of
Mark in each episode, trying to focus on the
story-telling aspects the writer used, and
relating the original story to our own life
experiences as followers of Jesus today.
Visit the CrossTies Ministry YouTube
Channel, listen to the episodes on Mark,
give a “thumbs up”, subscribe, and ring the
notification bell so you’ll know when new
episodes are uploaded. The schedule right
now calls for a new episode every two
weeks.
