Ministries

Ministry is serving others; we’ll help you find your place.

Ministry is service to others. Sometimes churches take a “top down” approach, creating programs and recruiting people to participte. We do that sometimes, but our big emphasis is on a “bottom up” approach, meaning we love it when our members choose what, and how, they want to serve others. Our two biggest outreach efforts came about because our members saw a need and created ways to address them. GriefShare, and New Beginnings are helping many people in real-life, practical ways. Here are a few of the important things we think you’ll want to know about our church and ministry.

GriefShare

This grief recovery ministry is specifically directed toward helping people who have lost a loved one to death. Started to help one of our own members who lost her disabled daughter a few years ago, this group serves some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

New Beginnings

A 12-step addiction recovery group, this ministry seeks to provide a proven way to help people out of the clutches of addiction. We take a broad-based approach, inviting participation by people with alcohol, drug, gambling, sexual addictions, and more. It is led by experienced individuals who are also members of our church

Food Pantry

We have many homeless and low-income individuals and families that live near our building. We can provide emergency and short-term help by supplying food from our pantry. In recent years, we have fed scores of people. Our pantry is stocked by donations from our members, collecting cans to exchange for money at a local recycling facility, and occasionally receiving special gifts

Pastoral And “Coffee Cup” Counseling

Provided by a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, we offer Bible-based spiritual counseling that can help with personal life problems, depression and anxiety, marriage issues, grief, and more. We offer this counseling at no cost, other than what is necessary to cover appropriate testing or profiles used in the counseling process. We also offer a less formal “Coffee Cup” counseling with a select group who have received training in helping people work through difficult times.

Educational Ministries

We’re big on Bible study! While the Covid-19 pandemic has made in-person classes difficult, we do have some small groups and Zoom classes. Plans are to start up in-person classes soon.
